<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting January 15, 2004 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Rorida <br /> <br />9C. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, <br />Providing for the City to Partner with the North Miami Beach Optimist Little League <br />Baseball Program by Donating $1,500.00 to their Operating Fund; Providing for the <br />City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; and Providing <br />for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title and Cultural and Human Services Director Susan <br />Simpson reported that this is a continuing partnership established two years ago with the <br />City of North Miami Beach. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Commissioner Brezin moved and Vice Mayor Goodman seconded a motion to approve <br />the resolution. Resolution No. 2004-632 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />9D. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, <br />Approving in Concept the Increase in Rental Amounts for the Lease of the Building <br />Department, Suite 26S and the Storage Unit, Suite 25S as Attached Hereto as <br />Exhibit "A"; and Further Approving the Option to Renew the Lease for City Hall, <br />Suite 250 on Amended Terms; Directing the City Manager and City Attorney to Do All <br />Things Necessary to Effectuate the Terms of this Agreement; Providing for an Effective <br />Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title and Mayor Ede1cup reported and recommended to <br />move the lease forward with amended terms that essentially increases the rent on the <br />storage unit at $1,250 per month, or roughly $15,000 a year, and the Building <br />Department at $2,500 per month for another $30,000. He stated in addition, as part of <br />the negotiations for this extension, the agreement that is being proposed by the City is to <br />pay the maintenance contracts for the air conditioning units and the one elevator that the <br />City uses. City Attorney Dannheisser stated the contracts were in the amounts of $3,641 <br />for the maintenance of the air conditioner, and $2,100 for the elevator maintenance. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Commissioner Iglesias moved and Vice Mayor Goodman seconded a motion to approve <br />the resolution. Resolution No. 2004-633 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />9E. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, <br />Approving a Contribution of $9,000.00 to the After School Program at Ruth K. <br />Broad Bay Harbour Elementary School; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title and Mayor Edelcup reported that this request <br />came from Bay Harbour Islands Mayor Linda Zilber, asking for $45,000.00 divided by <br />the five municipalities using this service for their children. <br /> <br />11 <br />
