Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting January 15, 2004 City of Sunny Isles Beach, Rorida 9C. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Providing for the City to Partner with the North Miami Beach Optimist Little League Baseball Program by Donating $1,500.00 to their Operating Fund; Providing for the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; and Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title and Cultural and Human Services Director Susan Simpson reported that this is a continuing partnership established two years ago with the City of North Miami Beach. Public Speakers: none Commissioner Brezin moved and Vice Mayor Goodman seconded a motion to approve the resolution. Resolution No. 2004-632 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. 9D. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving in Concept the Increase in Rental Amounts for the Lease of the Building Department, Suite 26S and the Storage Unit, Suite 25S as Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; and Further Approving the Option to Renew the Lease for City Hall, Suite 250 on Amended Terms; Directing the City Manager and City Attorney to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate the Terms of this Agreement; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title and Mayor Ede1cup reported and recommended to move the lease forward with amended terms that essentially increases the rent on the storage unit at $1,250 per month, or roughly $15,000 a year, and the Building Department at $2,500 per month for another $30,000. He stated in addition, as part of the negotiations for this extension, the agreement that is being proposed by the City is to pay the maintenance contracts for the air conditioning units and the one elevator that the City uses. City Attorney Dannheisser stated the contracts were in the amounts of $3,641 for the maintenance of the air conditioner, and $2,100 for the elevator maintenance. Public Speakers: none Commissioner Iglesias moved and Vice Mayor Goodman seconded a motion to approve the resolution. Resolution No. 2004-633 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. 9E. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving a Contribution of $9,000.00 to the After School Program at Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbour Elementary School; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title and Mayor Edelcup reported that this request came from Bay Harbour Islands Mayor Linda Zilber, asking for $45,000.00 divided by the five municipalities using this service for their children. 11
