❑ Ask partner organizations to monitor their machines weekly at first, and <br />periodically thereafter, for compliance with Fit PickTm nutritional <br />standards (see Appendix H for Sample Monitoring Log.) Feedback <br />can be brought back to community -wide follow -up meetings for <br />review and problem solving. <br />• Are the correct products in the right slots? If not, alert the <br />vending operator. <br />• Are some Fit Pick TM slots depleted? <br />• Are too many slots filled with the same (or same type of) <br />product? If so, alert the vending operator. <br />Step 7 — Publicize and Promote to Community <br />Once Fit PickTM is installed at partner organization sites, it is time to <br />publicize your success and promote Fit Pick TM to the rest of your <br />community. <br />❑ Send a press release to your local media contacts. Include story <br />ideas from your partner organizations. <br />❑ Offer to present Fit Pick TM to local civic groups (Association of <br />Human Resource Directors, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, etc.) <br />❑ Use direct mail or e -mail to notify other organizations in your <br />community about Fit Pick TM and how to get involved. <br />❑ Send a Public Service Announcement script to local radio stations. <br />Step 8 — Follow -up <br />❑ Continue to conduct regular team meetings (monthly at first, quarterly <br />over time) to review sales of Fit Pick" products and campaign needs. <br />Points for discussion include: <br />• Do Fit Pick TM products account for an appropriate percentage <br />of total sales? <br />• Are stickers /clings in place and in good condition? <br />• Do some products need to be replaced? <br />• Should there be a taste test to introduce a new food or <br />beverage item? <br />• Does marketing and promotion need to be increased? <br />• Is Fit PickTm being installed in new organizations <br />• Don't forget to celebrate your success! <br />16 <br />
