SITE PLANNING RJ Behar provides services in the area of site planning ranging from small scale commercial site planning to master planning for mixed -use projects. We provide the design of paving, drainage, water distribution systems and sanitary sewer systems associated with land development projects. We are experienced in obtaining permits from state agencies such as the Water Management Districts, Department of Environmental Protection, the Florida Department of Transportation, the Health Department and numerous City and County agencies throughout South Florida. WATER RESOURCES & STORMWATER MASTER PLAN RJ Behar has considerable expertise in the area of water resources. Our staff has developed proficiency in the design and analysis of wastewater and water distribution systems. We have designed water and sewer services for commercial sites and our staff has developed wastewater and water distribution plans for citywide systems and to service Industrial Parks and new communities. Our experience ranges from designing sewer laterals and water services for a proposed site, to trunk lines and complete sewer service neighborhood retrofit projects. We have also designed lift stations and force mains, and have extensive experience with the planning and design of stormwater management projects. RJ Behar completed plans for the Shady Banks (Septic Area 5) septic tank conversion to a sanitary sewer system and for the waterline improvements at Sistrunk Boulevard for the City of Fort Lauderdale. Currently, we are a working on a project for the Broward County Water and Wastewater Services Department. We participated in the Waterworks program for the City of Fort Lauderdale. In these contracts, RJ Behar has designed water distribution systems, conversion of septic tank neighborhoods to wastewater collection systems, new pump station design, rehabilitation of existing lift stations, electrical and mechanical evaluations, preparation of Basis of Design Reports (BODR), reviewed master planning documents, evaluated sites for communication towers, hydraulic analyses and calculations, as well as construction administration and observation services. RJ Behar has developed expertise and specializes in the area of stormwater and water resources. Currently, RJ Behar provides water resources services as a consultant to the South Florida Water Management District, is one of the two drainage engineers for the Central Broward Water Control District, and has provided drainage design services to FDOT Districts 6, 4 and the Turnpike. We have followed the development and attended training on the new stormwater rules. FAMILIARITY WITH PERMITTING AGENCIES RJ Behar has extensive experience with permitting, roadway, drainage, water and sewer and site design projects. Our experience has been enhanced while providing similar services to other municipal, county and state clientele. The relevant agencies and types of permits in which the RJ BEHAR Staff has recently been involved with include: MIAMI -DADE COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT: On projects connecting to County roads and /or existing drainage systems. The RJ BEHAR Team has worked closely with the County's staff over the past years. These include extensive coordination with the Miami - Dade County Environmental Resource Management (DERM) while obtaining drainage permits for the City of Hialeah roadway projects and for stormwater studies. The RJ BEHAR Team has also worked closely on a number of roadway projects with the County's Highway Division.
