Mike Spruce, P.E.
Relevant Experience cont.
provided improvements to NW 6th Avenue from NW 28th Street to NW 32nd Street within the Boca Raton Campus.
For the Harbor Branch Campus Entry Road and Guardhouse Reconstruction project in Fort Pierce, KHA provided
the design and permitting of the pavement reconstruction of the entry road from US 1 to the Barrows Building at
the Harbor Branch Campus. The design included reconstruction of the roadway surrounding the guardhouse.
Permitting for this project included SFWMD and the Florida East Coast Railway.
Industrial Avenue Corridor Stormwater Improvements, Boynton Beach, FL — Served as project manager on
a stormwater, water main, and roadway improvement project for the City of Boynton Beach. Project involved the
hydraulic and hydrologic modeling of approximately 18 acres of an existing industrial development and an adjacent
residential area; detailed design of stormwater conveyance and retention facilities; detailed design of roadway
improvements; and permitting, bid phase, and construction phase services. Responsibilities included leading the
stormwater modeling and design team.
Cypress Drive Drainage, Palm Beach County, FL — Project engineer for the redesign of the drainage system in a
70 -acre area of commercial and industrial zoning. The area, which includes Cypress Drive, Tequesta Drive, and Old
Dixie Highway, suffered from frequent and severe flooding, and Kimley- Horn's role as consultant was to develop
an outfall that would provide relief to the area. The project was complicated by the fact that retention and detention
requirements are now more stringent in areas with commercial and industrial zoning. There was also no vacant
property available for detention. Run -off storage was achieved by the construction of approximately 2,000 feet of
exfiltration trench that ultimately discharges into the Loxahatchee River. The exfiltration trench averages 20 feet in
width and 10 feet in depth and transmits stormwater via two 36 -inch perforated pipes.
Harbor Drive Drainage Evaluation, Delray Beach, FL — Served as project manager and lead engineer on
this residential drainage project. Project duties include directing data collection, stormwater modeling, and
recommendation of alternative improvements.
Seacrest Neighborhood Improvement Program, Delray Beach, FL — Served as project manager and quality
control reviewer for construction plans for Phase IV of the City of Delray Beach's Seacrest Neighborhood
Improvement Program. The project included more than $1.5- million worth of improvements and upgrades to aging
infrastructure on 18 streets within the existing Seacrest neighborhood. The improvements and upgrades included
installation of potable water distribution mains and service connections, abandonment and relocation of existing
water mains and service connections, installation of sewer mains with service connections, asphaltic concrete
pavement overlays and reconstructions, concrete sidewalks, traffic calming measures, stormwater drainage
improvements, retention ponds, driveway replacements, swale improvements, landscaping and irrigation, and
associated miscellaneous improvements.
South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Multidisciplined Professional Services, FL— Project
engineer on the Kimley -Horn team that has a three -year, multi - disciplinary professional services contract to support
the SFWMD's Everglades Construction Project, development and implementation of Phase II Technologies, and
compliance with the District's obligations under the Everglades Forever Act. The scope of services for SFWMD
may include detailed design review, planning services, detailed engineering, and structural and other inspections,
in addition to the firm's basic consulting services. Kimley -Horn was selected for this contract based on the firm's
strong history with SFWMD, its extensive work for the District, and its thorough understanding of the unique needs
of the area.
TR3000164 .1 i- 0_Sunny1s1es8ch_TES resumes.indd
PP-MFI Kimley -Horn
\= and Associates.
