Conduct preliminary interviews with each utility, including City operation and
maintenance staff, after reviewing record drawings;

c. Perform ground penetrating radar (GPR) of the project work zone to identify
potential known and unknown utilities using surface detection instruments.
This will be provided by INFRAMAP, our subsurface utility engineering (SUE)
subconsultant;

d. Provide written feedback to the City regarding known utilities;

e. Perform a review of project work zone after submittal of the design
development drawings to identify potential conflicts and provide written
feedback to the Owner;

f. Perform utility conflict review after completion of 60% drawings to identify
potential locations for an FDOT Quality LevellA" SUE locate of each potential
conflict (this incorporates the records search and GPR results and involves
digging test holes at specific locations to get accurate horizontal and vertical
elevation data);

g. Provide a map of the GPR and SUE results to the City and conduct a workshop
with each affected utility to gain buy-in prior to making any plan design changes;
and

h. Request a second utility confirmation of any changes to known utilities just prior
to advertising the construction bid package to check for any changes that can be
addressed prior to contract award. This will maximize the opportunity for
receiving competitive bids rather than dealing with the impact as a change order
claim.

In summary, we have the right staff available now and through the foreseeable
period of the 174th Street project AND we utilize a management and coordination
plan to keep the project on schedule!

CR>lIEN lHOMPSON

f1

CRAVEN THOMPSON & ASSOCIATES, INC.
ENGINEERING - SURVEYING - LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE - PLANNING

& ASSOCltoJES INC.

416
