<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting January 19,2012 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />to US. Mayor Edelcup said a letter from the Chief should be forwarded with this Resolution, <br />and Vice Mayor Thaler said to make sure a copy goes to County Commissioner Sally <br />Heyman as well. City Manager Cohen said that Commissioner Heyman did attend the Bal <br />Harbour meeting and expressed her concerns about the impact that an event like this would <br />have on our communities. She wanted to make sure our voices were heard and encouraged <br />us to give voice to our concerns. Chief Maas said additionally in regards to the Mayor's <br />suggestion about the letter being attached to the Resolution, he will also make sure that <br />Police Major Jeeter who is the Commanding Officer of District 6 who also would be <br />responsible from the County side to provide security and traffic control for all of Haulover <br />Park, and he himself cannot ensure with all that is going on in the County at the same time <br />including the Dade County Youth Fair, a Tennis Meet, another concert in another location of <br />the County, as well as the timeliness of the cut backs in the Police Department for the County <br />that they would be able to provide the numbers necessary for safety and security. He will <br />also ask him to provide a letter to be sent in or even attached to our Resolution, along with a <br />letter from the Chief of Bal Harbour and of Bay Harbor Islands, all the surrounding <br />communities that would be impacted by this event. City Manager Cohen noted that Captain <br />Snyder and Corporal Samora attended a meeting last week in Bal Harbour about this event. <br />Commissioner Aelion said there are other locations in the County to hold that concert. <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Commissioner Aelion seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2012-1840 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />10J. Add-On: <br />A Resolution of the City Commission ofthe City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving a <br />90-Day Extension for 4M Investors, LLC. to Present a Final Site Plan for the Design of <br />a Park and Parking Garage to be Approved by the City Commission no Later than <br />April 19, 2012; Authorizing the City Manager and the City Attorney to Do All Things <br />Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: [City Clerk's Note: See additional action under Item 5F.} City Manager Cohen <br />reported. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: Cliff Schulman, Esq.; Joseph Milton; Eduardo Castifieira, Architect; Barry <br />Miller, Landscape Architect; <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution.
