AECOM

Design + Planning
Landscape Architecture + Urban Design
Wayfinding + Environmental Graphics

Studio: Orlando

Kissimmee Lakefront Park
Wayfinding

These services were provided by AECOM
professionals during their employment
with Glatting Jackson Kercher Anglin, Inc.

This 25-acre park is located in
downtown Kissimmee on the shores of
Lake Tohopekaliga. The design team
worked with the City of Kissimmee's
Parks and Recreation department and
the Downtown CRA to redevelop the
park, focusing on the historical,
ecological and social needs of a
growing waterfront community. The
lakefront park utilizes innovative
stormwater management, flexible civic
space design, active and passive
waterfront recreation, and world-class
art to create the premiere community
gathering space for the citizens of
Kissimmee as well as surrounding
neighbors.

GlattingJackson developed a
comprehensive wayfinding system that
will help direct visitors to various
destinations within the park. The
overall wayfinding system includes
directional signs, kiosk maps, and
interpretive signage. The goal of the
interpretive sign program will help
educate visitors not only about the rich
history of the waterfront and
surrounding areas, but also the
ecological improvements of the park.

The design team was challenged with
keeping the aesthetic consistent with
the new wayfinding system in the
Historic Downtown area, also created
by Glatting Jackson, while maintaining
a sense of place and brand unique to
the park.

Project size: 25 acres
Cost: $30,000

\f!~--~ ~~

Pedestrian
Directional

Kiosk Map

... /1.'l'ldl.U,l:i.:.....:;~d\ ~(\:i hlil'lll: ...,'1_, ~i'~."."

.' . iftL:~'d
, ~~
.\ J---. e'
. , .., 3 .
