HANDLEY, R.L.A. <br />Principal - Vice President, Planning and Landscape Architecture <br /> <br />Landscape Planner (December 1983 - March 1984) Warren McCormick and <br />Associates, Oakland Park - Responsibilities involved providing landscape planning <br />and design services for multi-family residential projects. Also involved in land use <br />planning and preparation of sales graphics. <br /> <br />Landscape Designer/Draftsman (June 1983-Sept. 1983) James Santiago and <br />Assoc., Fort Lauderdale - Responsibilities involved providing landscape design for <br />the Park Village residential development in Sunrise. <br /> <br />RELEVANT EXPERIENCE <br /> <br />NW 44th Street Passive Park and Oakland Park Boulevard Passive Park, Sunrise - <br />Principal Landscape Architect. Construction Cost: $8 Million. These 2 passive parks <br />developed under the Broward County Parks Bond Program include upland and <br />wetland restoration, a splash pad, a nature-themed playground, restroom and <br />storage buildings, jogging paths, picnic shelters and canal boardwalk. CTA is the <br />prime consultant for these projects and are providing civil engineering, surveying <br />and landscape architectural services. <br /> <br />Sawgrass Sanctuary Park - City of Sunrise - Project Manager for this <br />environmental interpretive passive park constructed on a 21-acre parcel located at <br />the Southwest corner of Interstate 75 and State Road 84 within the City of Sunrise. <br />This park includes the creation of an enormous wetland as well as picnic pavilions, <br />interpretive stations, animal footprint teaching pads, boardwalk with porthole <br />viewing terminals, an observation platform, fishing pier, canoe trails and even a <br />concert platform. <br /> <br />Sabal Pines Park - City of Coconut Creek - Project Manager for this 5.5 million <br />dollars, 53-acre sports facility for the City of Coconut Creek. Services included <br />preliminary site planning, through design development, construction document <br />preparation, bidding and construction, This unique facility provides a wide variety <br />of active and passive recreation opportunities for the residents of Coconut Creek. <br />The amenities include two soccer fields, four baseball/softball fields, two tennis <br />courts, two in-line hockey rinks, two unique tot lots, a nature trail through a <br />preserved conservation area, a jogging path, a recreated wetland, a lakefront <br />boardwalk, a group picnic shelter, two family picnic shelters, a restroom / picnic <br />shelter, a concession / restroom / administration building, a maintenance bUilding <br />with compound and numerous parking areas. <br /> <br />Coconut Creek Community Center, Coconut Creek - Landscape Architect. Cost: <br />$5.3 Million. 8.2-acre community center. Master plan included sports courts, <br />amphitheater, play areas, boardwalks & jogging paths. Site is extensively <br />landscaped with buffer planting & berming on all sides. Design includes 2 <br />interpretive areas with butterfly gardens.
