The design work includes, master planning of the site, grading, paving, drainage, utility, landscape, lighting, and signage. Oakland Park - Parks & Recreation Master Plan. Serving as one of the City of Oakland Park's Planning and Design consultants, Mr. houghtaling was part of a team responsible for preparing a 20-year Master Plan for its citywide Recreation Programs and Parks. This city of 44,000 residents has a system of 24 parks and recreation facilities with a staff of 45 responsible for maintenance and management. This project approach included 'evelopment of an inventory of existing Jcilities and resources, creation of a customized web site for communication with the public, inventorying existing residents and community stakeholders, development of physical plans, and establishment of budgets and schedules for implementation over a 5- 10-20-year time frame. The entire project required six workshops, interviews with all public officials and current City Commissioners in order to establish support for adoption of the plan within a 12-month time frame. Cooper City High School Landscape Master Plan. Developed a landscape master plan for the Cooper City High School Campus for the Broward County School Board. The master plan evolved as part of the School Board's desire to introduce native plants and low-maintenance landscapes onto their campuses. The plan identified underutilized areas suitable for planting and the creation of outdoor gathering spaces to enhance the learning experience at the high school. Broward County School Board - Deerfield Beach Innovation Zone. This project required analysis, landscape and irrigation concept design and construction documents to update the landscape and irrigation systems to accommodate new construction and update and rehabilitate the campus-wide landscapes for the existing Deerfield Beach Middle School and each of its feeder schools. These feeder schools included Norcrest Elementary, Deerfield Beach Elementary, Deerfield Park Elementary, Park Ridge Elementary, and Tedder Elementary. The goal of this project was to prepare environmentally conscious landscape designs for schools according to Innovation Zones that were previously established by the School Board. Key components of these updates included the use of native vegetation, efficient irrigation systems, and the restoration of natural habitats for use in the learning environments. The Client required the consultant to follow LEED standards. The Waterfront - G9. Provided landscape architecture for a 725-acre urban mixed-use development in the Waterfront District of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The project area includes six miles of urban streetscape, four miles of commercial and residential waterfront, and three major urban parks. Services include conceptual through final design plans for the project's landscape, hardscape, irrigation, site furnishings, water features, architectural amenities, signage and lighting.
