Killian Hill Multi-Use Path | 2-3 Planning and Urban Design | 2-3 <br />Atkins | City of Sunny Isles Beach, RFQ No. 12-04-020006.027944.0512 <br />St. Simons Village Master Plan <br />St. Simons Island, Georgia <br />The Village on St. Simons Island is as much <br />a part of the island’s unique character and <br />charm as its moss-draped live oaks, beauti- <br />ful beaches, and dramatic marsh views. <br />In recent years, the Village, along with the <br />rest of the island, has seen significant new <br />growth and development. At the heart of the <br />Village are the pier, Neptune Park, and the <br />old casino complex. The Village serves as <br />the town center, or “downtown,” for the entire <br />island. Through a visioning process, Atkins <br />helped bring the community together to form <br />a consensus-based, unified master plan uti- <br />lizing an open, participatory workshop plan- <br />ning approach.
