<br />Mr. Alfonso has 14 years of substantial experience in scheduling, estimating, claims, and design
<br />development experience involving project controls and software systems including Primavera,
<br />Suretrak, Surechange, Claim Digger, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel,
<br />and AutoCAD. He has extensive experience developing cost estimates from the conceptual
<br />to bidding stages, bidding strategies, comparative analysis, and value engineering, as well as
<br />supporting other related functions such as review of construction managers’ cost estimates and
<br />guaranteed maximum price (GMP), review of contract documents, and negotiations support
<br />for various municipal, governmental, public and private, and federal clients. He has been
<br />supporting these types of projects for many years and has developed a focused approach to
<br />provide accurate costs for projects that has enabled him to maintain a high level of accuracy in
<br />his cost estimates for clients. Mr. Alfonso has successfully managed scheduling and estimating
<br />assignments for Atkins’ continuing contract with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS)
<br />for construction projects totaling more than $2 billion over the last seven years. He maintains a
<br />high level of client satisfaction through his leadership abilities and commitment to quality work.
<br />Mr. Alfonso’s project experience includes:
<br />Miami Dade College, Wolfson Campus, Culinary Arts Building, Miami, FL. Project
<br />involved A-E design services. The building is situated on a demolished one-story, 4,100-sf
<br />support service building site that has been transformed into a nine-story culinary arts building
<br />with a wine-tasting center, and mechanical equipment area at roof level. Involved mechanical,
<br />electrical, and plumbing (MEP) and conveyor systems; circulation spaces; hardscape and
<br />landscape design; engineering coordination; design and coordination of new existing support
<br />utilities; and full construction administration services. Mr. Alfonso was responsible for managing
<br />the cost estimating and project controls efforts at various stages of design, letting, and during
<br />construction change controls.
<br />Snyder Park Tennis Center North Miami Beach, FL. Provided master planning services,
<br />architectural design services, landscape architecture, civil engineering, and ecological services
<br />for the development of a new 7,500 sf tennis center and café. As project estimating manager,
<br />Mr. Alfonso was responsible for managing the development of estimates of probable
<br />construction cost during the design progress stages and to reconcile with the project budget.
<br />Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) Pompano Operations Center, Broward County,
<br />FL. Preparation of the design criteria package including A-E and interior design services was
<br />provided for the new two-story, 38,000-sf offi ce building that houses administrative offi ces
<br />and the traffi c maintenance center. In addition to preparation of 30-percent design documents,
<br />construction administration peer review services were provided through building occupancy.
<br />Mr. Alfonso provided cost estimating, change order review, site inspection, and scheduling/
<br />schedule reviews for this project.
<br />Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), Miami, FL. Project manager responsible
<br />for leading a team of project controls personnel in cost estimating, market studies, schedule
<br />reviews, constructability reviews, site/facility assessments, change order reviews, claims/time
<br />analysis reviews, and GMP reviews for various signifi cant projects at M-DCPS.
<br />Boca Raton Tolls Data Center Expansion, FDOT Offi ce of Toll Operations, Tallahassee,
<br />FL. Responsible for providing cost estimating and schedule reviews. This project involved the
<br />preparation of a design criteria package, schematics, and performance specifi cations for a two-
<br />story, 12,000-square-foot expansion to an offi ce building.
