The redesign included the replacement of the existing housing with 141 <br />townhouses, 490 rental apartments, and 100 elderly residential units. <br />Naranja Lakes Residential Community, Miami, Florida - Project Manager for reconstruction master <br />plan for a 200-acre, hurricane-ravaged community. The plan aimed at revitalizing the area using <br />existing building types and introducing changes to correct previous defi ciencies. It created a <br />town center, residential areas, a commercial area, church, and neighborhood community center. <br />Through addition of small sections of roads and bridges, plus a central access boulevard, the <br />entire Naranja Lakes community would be tied together. The changes in vehicular movement and <br />landscaping help create a sense of community. Reconstruction of 800 homes, including single-family <br />and townhouses, is planned. <br />Marina Point Residential Community, MiamI, Florida - Project Manager, land planning for 95-acre <br />residential subdivision for 530 single-family, zero-lot-line residences on 5,000-sf (average) lots. The <br />community plan featured a main boulevard culminating in a circle and park at the community’s <br />lake. Neighborhoods are organized on each side of the main boulevard around a community park, <br />and each has its own smaller park. <br />Quartier de Port Plan, Nice, France - A market study and master plans for one of the Mediterranean’s <br />leading cruise and ferry ports. Comprehensive waterside, terminal and upland improvements. A <br />market analysis for the region included market potential for maritime passenger traffi c and cargo <br />growth between French mainland ports and Corsica. <br />Key West Naval Base Reuse, Key West, Florida - Project planner for master planning of two of the <br />affected properties in the Naval Base Reuse project, focusing on master planning and designing <br />to fi t the urban context. Projects included adaptive reuse of the 36-acre Poinciana residential area <br />as affordable housing, and conversion of the 40-acre Truman Annex submarine base as mixed-use <br />affordable housing, plus commercial uses, public marina and two-berth cruise seaport. <br />Grenada Waterfront Master Plan, St. George’s, Grenada - The Grenada Cruise Port Village master <br />plan is conceived as an extension to the water’s edge of St. George’s the Downtown. Its execution <br />provides for additional retail activities, pedestrian access and view corridors to the water’s edge. <br />Coca-Cola Properties Reuse Study, Plaza Soyapango, San Salvador, El Salvador - Project Manager <br />for the highest and best use study to defi ne the potential reuse of the land area that contained <br />the spring for water supply and the bottling plant. The project process addressed establishing an <br />understanding of site conditions, the site’s context infl uences regarding access, area, character <br />of surrounding neighborhoods and retail areas. B&A worked closely with Lambert Advisory, who <br />carried out the market and economic feasibility element of the study. A number of scenarios were <br />generated, a site design was prepared and an evaluation of the return on investment was carried <br />out. Strong collaboration with the site owners was crucial to the establishment of the reuse plan. The <br />proposal culminated in the recommendation to include a commercial center. <br />San Fernando Development Master Plan, Ciudad Radial, Panama - Project Manager. Developed a <br />master plan for a 250 acres land parcel. The site is located adjacent to Corredor Sur Expressway that <br />links Tucumen International Airport with Downtown Panama City. Because of its close proximity to <br />the airport the site and in connection with this major new roadway, the access is a desired location <br />for light industrial/warehouse uses and commercial. <br />Alfredo C.
