<br />SGM’s Principal in Charge
<br />Mr. Shahnami is a registered Professional Engineer with 30 years of experience in the mechanical, electrical,
<br />IAQ, and plumbing fields. His registration in several states makes him particularly well qualified to perform
<br />design-engineering tasks across the nation for a wide range of clients.
<br />
<br />His background includes developing, designing and managing MEP plans for public facilities, federal and local
<br />government agencies, community colleges, K-12 and universities. Mr. Shahnami has excellent verbal and writing
<br />communication skills. Also, he has specialized experience managing continuing services contracts with both
<br />public and private clients.
<br />
<br />As Principal-in-Charge, Mr. Shahnami has extensive experience in the operation and troubleshooting of HVAC
<br />systems and energy management control systems, extensive field experience, knowledgeable in building
<br />operation and maintenance and O&M training and test and balance of both air and water systems. Mr. Shahnami
<br />has experience on prior campus projects providing design reviews, IAQ, and specification writing.
<br />
<br />Mr. Shahnami areas of expertise are heat transfer, fluids, indoor air quality, steam systems, heat recovery and
<br />geothermal systems. He has utilized this expertise such that SGM Engineering is recognized for high
<br />performance, energy efficient designs for government facilities. This is evident thru the award of the first two
<br />LEED sustainable schools in Central Florida. Mr. Shahnami’s project experience has been predominantly in
<br />federal and local government markets. He is registered in over 38 states which has led him to a broad knowledge
<br />of building codes across the country.

<br />SGM’s Mechanical Project Manager
<br />With 15 years of experience, Mr. Lizasoain is an experienced HVAC Engineer for municipal, administrative,
<br />commercial and institutional buildings for the government and private sector. Mr. Lizasoain is also a Certified
<br />Commissioning Agent committed to providing quality commissioning services from early in the design phase,
<br />through construction and into the warranty period with the ability to oversee commissioning activities for facilities,
<br />while meeting the highest level of LEED building certification feasible.

<br />Mr. Lizasoain has acted as the principal commissioning authority for at least five project over 50,000 square feet
<br />and has extensive knowledge and expertise in the follow: energy-efficient equipment design and control strategy
<br />optimization; writing commissioning specifications and test procedures, direct digital control (DDC) systems;
<br />monitoring and analyzing system operations using energy management control system trending and stand-along
<br />data logging equipment; commissioning management; troubleshooting; and sustainable design.
<br />
<br />For cooling, Jose is experienced with the design of chilled water systems with a primary and secondary loop
<br />system and with air and water cooled chillers. For heating, Jose is experienced with the design of water and gas
<br />fired boilers, and hot water systems at 180 degrees F.
<br />
<br />As an ACG Certified Commissioning Agent, Mr. Lizasoain has managed LEED-certification and design; provided
<br />commissioning and advanced commissioning; has experience with controllable systems (lighting, thermal
<br />comfort), water efficiency, energy efficiency, and indoor environmental quality; experience with materials selection
<br />including recycled materials and content and low-emitting materials selection; and experience with materials
<br />reuse.

<br />SGM’s Electrical Project Manager
<br />Mr. Escott has 19 years experience in Electrical Engineering which includes project management, permitting, job
<br />costing, major purchases/subcontracts, submittals, scheduling, manpower loading, field coordination, change
<br />order estimating, technical assistance to field personnel, and project closeouts. Areas of expertise include project
<br />design, lighting design, power system design, riser diagrams, panel schedules, design and implement information
<br />systems, supply planning, EMF analysis, surge arrester protection, and distribution operations.
<br />Mr. Escott is also Director of Engineering at SGM Engineering, with the mission of continually meeting the needs
<br />of today’s generation without compromising the needs of future generations through evolving design approaches.
