2010, Orlando Science Center HVAC, Lighting, Power, Plumbing & Fire Protection Energy Assessment, Orlando, FL
– Mr. Lizasoain was a Mechanical Engineer commissioned to provide engineering services to identify and recommend the
best and most economical and energy efficient method of correcting the HVAC equipment located at the Orlando Science
Center Complex. Responsibilities included: operation and the deficiencies associated with the operation. Inspect the
facilities in areas of HVAC, lighting, power, Fire Alarm, security system, Plumbing & FP system. Review the as-build and
outlining the cost and improvement plan for the building operation.
2010, Orange County Medical Examiners Facility Orlando, FL – Mr. Lizasoain provided engineering services for
mechanical systems. Our fire protection submittal included complete sprinkler layout, specifications, and hydraulic
calculations. The plumbing drawings show required pipe routing and sizes supplying each plumbing fixture. In addition,
specifications were provided to show the required product materials, equipment, execution, and testing for all system s being
used. Our contract also included construction administration which required periodic site inspections, shop drawing review,
RFI responses, and meeting with the AHJ.
2010, Orange County Convention Center Orlando, FL – Mr. Lizasoain provided Mechanical Design and Commissioning
of new Variable Frequency Drives and Controls for all existing air handling units, fan, blowers and secondary chilled water
pumps. SGM was the Engineer of the record and responsible for a solid commissioning plan for this 4,200,000 sq. ft. facility,
the second largest convention center in the nation. The new plan was an alteration to existing facilities HVAC system. As
part of this project, SGM is currently upgrading and replacing the existing multi manufacturer HVAC building automation
systems (BAS) to the most current hardware and software using one manufacturer’s product. This BAS will be integrated
through an enterprise level portal with remote accessibility. The goal was to integrate the campus wide buildings into one
BAS web based access point.SGM is responsible for design of new controls, energy management system in compliance
with codes, development of specifications, sequence of controls, design and general construction scheduling, cost
estimating, and construction management.
2010, Orlando Events Center Parking Garage, Orlando, FL –Mr. Lizasoain provided Mechanical services for a $34 million
parking structure to serve the needs of the Orlando Events Center (OEC). The multi-level, open parking structure will feature
an estimated 2,000 spaces free of column obstacles, a helicopter landing pad, a climate-controlled elevated pedestrian
crosswalk to the Orlando Events Center, and an energy-efficient lighting system. The structure will have eight (8) elevated
parking levels. All stall sizes with be a minimum of 9’ wide and 18’ deep. The project is fast tracked for completion by July
2010.
2008, Orange County Convention Center, Roof Replacement, Orlando, FL – Mr. Lizasoain was a Mechanical Engineer
for this project. SGM was commissioned through a continuing contract to design and located Mechanical and Plumbing
Engineering component to the various roof areas. The scope includes the redesigning of the roof drains, sizing roof drains,
and routing storm drain piping. Also, decommissioned and recommissioned HVAC and Plumbing equipment during
scheduled roof replacements.
2007, City of Titusville, Fire Command Center, Titusville, FL – Mr. Lizasoain was a Mechanical Engineer for the building
assessment report regarding the MEP conditions of the City of Titusville’s Fire Command Center. SGM determined and
identified current issues for life safety, ADA, HVAC, IAQ and power/electric systems. SGM also prepared cast estimates for
associated deficiencies that were outlined in the report. The City utilized the report to request funding based on the findings.
2007, Orange County Corrections Central Utility Plant Chiller Expansion, Orlando, FL – Mr. Lizasoain provided
