For over five years, I have had the pleasure of working with Mr.
Baumal during his program and project management assignments at the City of Miami Beach.
In this capacity, Mr. Baumal has played a key role in the successful completion and
( )
advancement of several important projects valued in excess of $70- million, including the Miami
Beach Regional Library, Scott Rakow Youth Center Phase I, Miami Beach Golf Course
(
Clubhouse, Convention Center Restrooms, Normandy Isle Park & Pool, and the $40- million
Multi- purpose Municipal Parking Facility (MMPF).
r
In the case of the nearly completed MMPF, Steve was instrumental in structuring a phased
construction plan, and subsequently helping to successfully negotiate four independent
r
construction contracts. This level of resourcefulness, as well as his construction management
expertise and professionalism has been uniquely instrumental in keeping the project on
(
schedule; thus enabling the City to meet its contractual obligations with the New World
Symphony, whose new campus is currently under construction.
Having worked closely with Steve, I can unequivocally attest to his professionalism, integrity, and
ability to oversee all aspects of this extremely politically demanding and sensitive project. I am
extremely gratified and proud to be associated with Steve, who has always had and will continue
to have my support and appreciation for the responsible manner in which he has managed our
projects.
ry Truly Yours,
Jo Chartrand, Director
Copy: Mr. Dick Larson, Vice President, Office Manager V/
We are committed to providing excellent public service and safety b all who live, work, and pkry in our vibrant, tropical, historic community.
URS Section 5 — REFERENCES 33
