Flowering shrubs are to receive <br />applications of granular 8 -10 -10 SCU with micro - nutrients supplemented with <br />liquid 16 -4 -8 with micro - nutrients. Non - flowering shrubs are to receive <br />applications of granular and liquid 16 -4 -8 with micro - nutrients. All Ixora species <br />shall receive TRI -NITE (or equivalent) w /minor elements fertilizer. <br />Due to lack of above ground irrigation on Collins Avenue median, plant material <br />is to receive four applications per year (Every three months) of liquid 16 -4 -8 with <br />micro - nutrients (no granular fertilizer is to be used). <br />3.5.4 SEASONAL COLOR <br />Apply one initial and one "mid- term" application of Nutricote total 70 day 13 -3 -13 <br />fertilizer for each seasonal color planting. <br />3.5.5 PHOENIX DACTILIFERA (DATE PALMS) <br />Frequency of Treatment: Palms will be fertilized and treated for disease and <br />insect control based on the below schedule; <br />Fertilization (4 applications per year): In March and June, fertilize <br />with 8 -10 lbs. of 12/5/12 with minors or close <br />equivalent. In September and December, fertilize with 3 <br />tp 4 lbs. of 12/5/12 with minors. Fertilizer should be <br />spread in small piles spaced evenly around the base of <br />the trunk approximately 12 inches out from the base. <br />Disease Control: In March and September, root drench with Chip -Co <br />26019 and Chip -Co Aliette. In June and December, root <br />drench with Clearys 3336 and Chip -Co Aliete. In April, <br />July and October, root drench with Subdue. <br />Treatment for <br />Lethal Yellowing: Apply injection of OTC, 5 -8cc. per tree per application. <br />These treatments are to occur on an "as needed" basis <br />only and as directed by City. <br />Insect Control: In January, April, August and November, inspect <br />terminal bud for signs of boring /chewing insects. If <br />evidence of a nest is discovered, drench terminal bud <br />with Orthene, Cygon or Lindane six times per year or as <br />needed to control insect infestation (Lindane is to be <br />used in limited amounts and only if evidence of beetles <br />is present).
