WEED REMOVAL (in addition to specifications) <br />We will provide weed removal on a per cut basis. The City should understand the need to increase or <br />decrease these frequencies due to climatic factors as determined by new weed growth. <br />1) Weeds are to be completely removed from all turf, shrub, ground cover, flowerbed, tree ring, and paver <br />block areas during the contract period. Entire area under contract shall remain weed -free at all times using <br />manual or chemical methods. <br />2) Weeds are to be completely eliminated from all paver block areas, dyed /decorative concrete walks, <br />concrete seating areas, walls, valve boxes, sign posts, irrigation equipment, catch basins, curbs, gutters, <br />cement bull noses, edges of asphalt and roadway, etc. <br />3) Any hardscape element shall be immediately repaired or replaced by the Contractor if it is damaged or <br />stained as a result of this service. Damage to other plant material shall be immediately repaired /replaced by <br />the Contractor. <br />4) There shall be no run -off of chemicals into adjacent roadways, lake, dry ponds, gutters, planting areas or <br />other hard surfaces. <br />5) We will submit all M.S.D.S. on products to be used for weed eradication 48 hours in advance. <br />6) Weeds may be eliminated by applying a fast acting herbicide in a granular or liquid form or by applying a <br />pre /post emergent. There shall be no evidence of dead weeds. <br />7) Contractor shall supply all chemicals as part of the contract at no additional cost. Contractor shall use a <br />one -day weed elimination product for highly visible areas. <br />GENERAL USE OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS (in addition to specifications) <br />1) All work involving the use of chemicals and fertilizers shall be in compliance with all <br />Federal, State and local laws. <br />2) Florida Turf and Landscape will provide M.S.D.S. to the City Contract Administrator for all proposed <br />chemicals and fertilizers with commercial name, application rates and type of usage 48 <br />hours prior to use. <br />3) Florida Turf and Landscape will notify City of day, time and method of application 48 hours prior to <br />application. Signage shall be applied 24 hours prior to application in the immediate area <br />om application. Signage to remain in place as dictated by the product label. <br />4) Applicator shall follow all label instructions and precautions and calibrate the spreader or <br />sprayer to the correct rate of application per 1,000 sq ft. <br />5) Upon completion, the contractor shall record all pertinent information (Records will be kept and retained <br />as prescribed by law for the use of fertilizers and chemicals, of all operations stating dates, times, methods <br />FLORIDA TURF AND LANDSCAPE RFP 12 -05 -01 Page 17 of 26 <br />
