AUGUSTINE TURF (in addition to specifications) <br />We will maintain turf areas in a healthy, growing, green, trim condition by performing the following <br />operations: <br />Mowing - Mowing is to be performed weekly at 3.5 inches. <br />Fertilization: <br />a. Turf areas — Applying fertilizer a minimum 4 times a year: March, June, September and mid November. <br />b. Shrubs and Ground Cover Beds — Applying fertilizer 4 times a year. <br />c. Trees — Applying fertilizer 3 times a year until /unless the individual tree reaches or exceeds a 3" caliper <br />in a turf planting. At this time, no additional fertilizer will be applied (feeder roots will absorb fertilizer <br />applied to the turf). <br />d. Palms — Applying fertilizer 4 times a year: every 3 months with a Palm special mix. Should a <br />palm develop nutrient deficiency, we will be responsible for correcting the deficiency. <br />e. Fertilizers are to be applied to turf, groundcover, shrub, flowerbeds, palms and trees throughout this <br />project as stated in the contract herein to maintain a green and healthy growing condition at all times. <br />f. Additional fertilizer may be indicated to adjust a specific nutrient deficiency i.e. iron, magnesium or <br />others. <br />g. Fertilizer to be used will vary according to the time of year, weather conditions and the condition of the <br />plant material. Florida Turf will provide City designee with fertilization formulation and application <br />schedule prior to use. <br />Chemical Pest Control: <br />a. Ant treatments shall be made with every week (52) times a year. <br />Dethatching: <br />Once per year in March or within 60 days of commencement. <br />MULCH MATERIAL (in addition to specifications) <br />We will supply all materials, labor and equipment. Mulching material shall meet requirements <br />of "FS Q -P 166E. Class B" for coarseness classification and horticultural grade "shredded Grade A ". It <br />shall be uniformly shredded and free from foreign matter and large pieces of bark. <br />A. Trees, Palms, Shrubs and Beds: Mulch for trees, palms, shrubs and beds in all referenced locations <br />of this RFP shall be Red Mulch. Red Mulch shall be of shredded virgin hardwoods and colored a <br />rich red color with a non -toxic premium colorant. May also contain clean kiln -dried wood from reprocessed <br />pallets. Prior to application, we will provide a sample of the mulch to the Project Designee for <br />his /her approval. <br />B. Mulch Application: <br />1. Mulch shall be uniformly applied over all shrub and groundcover areas, and around trees and palms in <br />sod areas two (2) times per year. <br />2.
