Any abuse of this privilege may result in disciplinary <br /> action. <br /> PROCEDURE: <br /> 1. Sick leave will be calculated at the rate of 3.69 hours per pay period (twenty-six i26). <br /> pay periods) for regular appointment full-time employees (typically on a forty (40) hour <br /> workweek) for twelve (12) sick leave days/year maximum and at a prorated rate based <br /> on number of hours worked in a workweek for those regular appointment part-time <br /> employees working twenty (20) or more hours but less than forty (40) hours a <br /> workweek. Sick leave will not be earned by an employee during unpaid suspension or <br /> when the employee is otherwise in a non-pay status. As mentioned, "eligible" <br /> employees include regular appointment full-time employees and regular appointment <br /> part-time employees scheduled to work a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week (and <br /> will accrue pro rata); temporary and intermittent employees are not eligible. <br /> 2. Sick leave earned will not be charged for disability leave due to job injury for which <br /> workers' compensation benefits are paid. <br /> 3. Accrued vacation leave will be used as sick leave when all sick leave credits have <br /> been exhausted. <br /> 4. Periods of authorized sick leave will be credited as working time in the calculation of <br /> any other benefits provided for under these rules with the exception of overtime. <br /> 5.
