Uniforms: Employees who are required to wear a uniform are expected to <br /> wear it properly and in its entirety. Uniforms (including footwear) must be <br /> clean, pressed and neatly maintained. Hats are not to be worn unless they <br /> are required as part of the uniform, and/or safety reasons. <br /> Employees and volunteers shall exercise caution in their conduct when <br /> wearing apparel with insignia, logos and/or language indication affiliation <br /> with the City. <br /> Employees who terminate employment are required to return uniforms <br /> issued to them. <br /> c. Footwear: All footwear will be clean and should be sturdy, stable and safe. <br /> Footwear should also be appropriate to the duties and responsibilities of the <br /> employee. Employees medically required to wear athletic shoes must <br /> obtain approval from the operating department's director. <br /> d. Personal Hygiene and Appearance: All employees are required to <br /> maintain a clean, neat and well-groomed appearance. Regardless of an <br /> employee's duties or anticipated work assignment, they are expected to <br /> meet this standard at the start of the workday. Employees are expected to <br /> maintain proper hygiene and shower/bathe routinely. Employees will refrain <br /> from using heavy perfume, cologne, aftershave, or other scents whose odor <br /> is offensive to coworkers. Tattoos and body piercings (other than earrings) <br /> should generally not be visible. Any visible tattoos or piercings (other than <br /> earrings on earlobes) must be covered with a bandage or clothing while at <br /> work. No dental accessories (e.g. mouth grills or tooth jewelry) shall be worn <br /> unless deemed necessary by a medical or dental professional. Facial hair <br /> and hairstyles should maintained neat and clean.
