1.06 STORAGE AND PROTECTION <br /> <br />A. Furnish a covered, weather-protected storage structure providing a clean, dry, <br />noncorrosive environment for mechanical equipment, valves, electrical and <br />instrumentation equipment, and special equipment to be incorporated into this <br />project. <br />1. Storage of equipment shall be performed to allow easy access and be in <br />strict accordance with the "instructions for storage" of each equipment <br />supplier and manufacturer including weather/humidity protection, connection <br />of heaters, placing of storage lubricants in equipment, blocking, or skid <br />storage. <br /> <br />2. Replace corroded, damaged, or deteriorated equipment and parts before <br />acceptance of the project. <br /> <br />B. Store products in accord with manufacturer's instructions, with seals and labels <br />intact and legible. <br /> <br />1. Store products subject to damage by the elements in weather-tight <br />enclosures. <br /> <br />2. Maintain temperature and humidity within the ranges required by <br />manufacturer's instructions. <br /> <br />3. Store fabricated products above the ground on blocking or skids, prevent <br />soiling or staining. <br /> <br />4. Cover products which are subject to deterioration with impervious sheet <br />coverings, provide adequate ventilation to avoid condensation. <br /> <br />5. Store loose granular materials in a well drained area on solid surfaces to <br />prevent mixing with foreign matter. <br /> <br />C. Materials and equipment to be incorporated in the work shall be handled and <br />stored by the CONTRACTOR before, during, and after shipment in a manner to <br />prevent warping, twisting, bending, breaking, chipping, rusting, and injury, theft <br />or damage to the material or equipment. <br /> <br />D. Store cement, sand, and lime under a roof and off the ground and keep <br />completely dry. <br /> <br />E. Store structural and miscellaneous steel, and reinforcing steel off the ground or <br />otherwise to prevent accumulations of dirt or grease, and to minimize rusting. <br /> <br />F.
