3.02 CONTRACTORS OPTIONS <br /> <br />A. Requests for substitution can be classified into two general categories, products <br />or construction methods. <br /> <br />1. Products (Materials or Equipment) <br /> <br />a. Provide products, to the maximum extent possible, of the same generic <br />kind meeting the quality and performance of the referenced standard and <br />from a single source. <br /> <br />b. Products specified by naming several products or manufacturers, select <br />one of the products or manufacturers named which complies with the <br />Contract Documents. <br /> <br />c. Products specified by naming one or more products or manufacturers <br />and stating "or equal", submit a request for substitution for product or <br />manufacturer not specifically named. <br /> <br />d. Products specified by naming one product or manufacturer and followed <br />by words indicating no substitution, there is no option and no request for <br />substitution will be considered. <br /> <br />e. Where more than one choice is available as a CONTRACTOR's option, <br />select a product which is compatible with other products specified or <br />selected. <br /> <br />f. Requests for substitution for products or manufacturers shall contain <br />product identification including: manufacturer's name and address; <br />manufacturer's literature with model or catalog number; product <br />description; test data; utility consumption (if applicable); justification for <br />the proposed substitution; samples (if appropriate); name and address of <br />similar projects on which product was used and date of installation; other <br />data as requested by the ENGINEER to establish that the proposed <br />substitution is equal to or better than that specified. <br /> <br />2. Construction Method <br /> <br />a.
