<br />3.06 DISPOSAL OF UNSUITABLE AND SURPLUS MATERIAL <br /> <br />A. Surplus and unsuitable excavated material shall be disposed of at the <br />CONTRACTOR's cost in one of the following ways as directed by the <br />ENGINEER. <br /> <br />1. Transport to soil storage area on OWNER's property and stockpile or spread <br />as directed by the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />2. Transport from OWNER's property and legally dispose of. <br /> <br />3. Permits required for the hauling and disposing of this material beyond <br />OWNER's property shall be obtained prior to commencing hauling <br />operations. <br /> <br />4. Copies of required permits shall be provided to the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />5. Suitable excavated material may be used for fill if it meets the Specifications <br />for common fill and is approved by the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />6. Excavated material so approved may be neatly stockpiled at the site where <br />designated by the ENGINEER provided there is an area available where it <br />will not interfere with the operation of the facility nor inconvenience traffic or <br />adjoining property OWNER’s. <br /> <br />3.07 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br /> <br />A. Retain a certified laboratory and make arrangements for testing necessary to <br />comply with these Specifications, in accordance with Division 1. <br /> <br />B. Provide copies of laboratory test results to the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />C. Conduct one test per lift for each 500 linear feet of pipeline, or a minimum of two <br />compaction tests per lift for projects with less than 1,000 linear feet of pipeline, <br />at locations directed by the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />D.
