3. Brace, plumb, and level members and secure with sufficient nails, spikes, <br />and bolts to insure rigidity and safety under concrete placement. <br /> <br />a. No metal to remain within one (1) inch of the surface of the concrete after <br />removal. <br /> <br />b. Wire ties are not permitted. <br /> <br />4. Unless otherwise indicated in the Drawings, exposed foundation sides and <br />grade beams shall be formed. <br /> <br />a. Forms shall be properly constructed, correctly aligned and of sufficient <br />strength to retain wet concrete without excessive leaking, deflection or <br />distortion. <br /> <br />b. Temporary openings shall be provided for cleaning and inspection of the <br />base of vertical forms and other places where necessary. <br /> <br />c. Where required wood inserts, nailing blocks or other wood to be set in <br />the forms shall be installed in an approved manner. <br /> <br />d. The inside of the forms shall be coated with an approved oil and <br />dampened before the concrete is poured. <br /> <br />5. Wood or metal forms will be required on sides of foundations, walls, and <br />walks. <br /> <br />a. Joist forms shall be accurately laid out, securely anchored and shall be <br />carefully handled to insure continued true and accurate pours. <br /> <br />6. Provide and maintain forms and shoring and for safe practice in their use <br />and removal. <br /> <br />7. Concrete on which forms have given way will be replaced or repaired at the <br />discretion of the ENGINEER as soon as forms are removed. <br /> <br />8. The ENGINEER shall be notified at least twenty four (24) hours prior to <br />placing concrete in order that forms and reinforcing steel may be inspected. <br /> <br />9. Masonry installed after concrete - Anchor exterior wall masonry which is <br />installed after concrete is poured in one of the two following methods. <br /> <br />a. Provide one (1) inch deep by three (3) inch wide concrete lugs around <br />perimeter. <br /> <br />b.
