M. COLUMNS/WALLS <br /> <br />1. Place concrete in columns forms before the beam and slab steel is in place. <br /> <br />2. Place column/wall concrete without dropping more than 8 feet. <br /> <br /> <br />N. SLABS AND BEAMS <br /> <br />1. Clean slab and beam forms after placing wall concrete. <br /> <br />2. Do not place concrete in roof and wall beams or slabs until concrete in walls <br />has been in place a minimum of four hours. <br /> <br />3. Place concrete for slabs and beams continuously and arrange work to <br />assure joints will be located at the points specified. <br /> <br />4. Slope floor slabs with floor drains uniformly to the floor drain. <br /> <br />5. Place slabs on fill carefully to avoid damage to vapor barriers. <br /> <br />O. CONSTRUCTION JOINTS <br /> <br />1. Locate keyed construction joints as shown or near points of maximum <br />potential movement and shear, subject to approval. <br /> <br />2. Locate construction joints at the underside of floor and roof members, tops <br />of foundations and near the quarter point or third point of the span in slabs, <br />beams or girders. <br /> <br />3. Locate construction joints for liquid retention structures as shown in the <br />Drawings. <br /> <br />4. Install keyed construction joints, straight and smooth, in slabs on fill, at wall <br />center lines. <br /> <br />5. Cure keyed construction joints a minimum of 24 hours before fresh concrete <br />is deposited. <br /> <br />6. Expansion joints in walkways on grade shall not exceed 20 feet on centers, <br />unless otherwise noted, and at changes in directions. <br /> <br />7. Mark walks in 5'-0" sections, unless otherwise shown in the Drawings. <br /> <br />8. Mark and tool the walks before concrete has become set. <br /> <br />9.
