<br />3.03 FINISHING <br /> <br />A. Form exposed concrete surfaces with new plywood and finish and rub off form <br />marks. <br /> <br />B. Chip free loose material from honeycomb and voids and grouted to match the <br />existing pour with a non-shrink, non-gaseous, non-metallic grout. <br />C. Provide finishes for concrete surfaces as indicated below: <br /> <br />1. Smooth, double trowel floors and bottom slabs of liquid retention structures. <br /> <br />2. Broom finish exterior slabs and walkways, edges and joints tooled. <br /> <br />3. Smooth rub finish walls, columns, and beams of liquid retention structures <br /> <br />3.04 CURING <br /> <br />A. Water cure liquid retention structures in accordance with ACI-308 for a period of <br />14 days after pouring. <br /> <br />B. Cure other concrete by application of curing compounds as specified herein, <br />applied in strict accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> <br />1. Curing shall start as soon as possible after pouring. <br /> <br />3.05 TIME BETWEEN POURS <br /> <br />A. At least two hours shall elapse after depositing concrete in long or high columns <br />and/or heavy walls before depositing in beams, girders or slabs supported <br />thereon. <br /> <br />1. For short columns and low height walls, 10 feet or less, waiting time shall be <br />at least 45 minutes prior to depositing concrete in beams, girders, brackets, <br />column capitals or slabs supported thereon. <br /> <br />2. Consider beams, girders, brackets, column capitals, and haunches as part <br />of the floor or roof system and place monolithically therewith. <br /> <br />3.06 VAPOR BARRIER <br /> <br />A. Use vapor barriers under slabs on grade utilizing maximum reasonable widths. <br /> <br />1. Lap joints a minimum of 6 inches and seal penetrations with pressure <br />sensitive tape. <br /> <br />2.
