PART 2 PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 CONCRETE MASONRY UNITS <br /> <br />A. Concrete masonry units (C. M. U. ) are load bearing blocks conforming to ASTM C <br />90, Grade N-1. <br /> <br />1. Obtain units from one manufacturer to insure even color and texture. <br /> <br />2. Provide nominal face dimensions of eight (8) inches by sixteen (16) inches. <br /> <br />2.02 SHAPES <br /> <br />A. Provide special shapes as required to complete concrete masonry work. <br /> <br />2.03 MORTAR <br /> <br />A. Provide mortar as specified under Division 4 for the specific installation required. <br /> <br /> <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 JOB LAYOUTS <br /> <br />A. Lay out coursing horizontally and vertically as shown in the Drawings. <br /> <br />1. Avoid block cuts less than four (4) inches wide. <br /> <br />2. Provide eight (8) inches vertical coursing. <br /> <br />3. Provide 3/8 inch thick joints. <br /> <br />4. Bed joints shall be indicated to receive masonry joint reinforcing, ties, and/or <br />anchors. <br /> <br />3.2 WORKMANSHIP <br /> <br />A. Lay masonry plumb and true to line. <br /> <br />1. Keep bond plumb throughout. <br /> <br />2.
