For any test pressure from 1 to 1½ times the system operating design <br />pressure, the total test time including initial pressurization, initial expansion, <br />and time of test pressure, must not exceed eight (8) hours. If the test is not <br />completed due to leakage, equipment failure, etc., depressurize the test <br />section, then allow it to “relax” for at least eight (8) hours before bringing the <br />test section up to test pressure again. <br /> <br />3.17 PAINTING <br /> <br />A. Piping and supports shall be field painted as specified in Division 9 of the <br />Specifications. <br /> <br />3.18 SPECIAL PROVISIONS AT CONCRETE EXPANSION JOINTS <br /> <br />A. At 3/4 or 1-inch concrete expansion joints, concrete encased pipes shall be <br />provided with a sleeve type coupling. <br /> <br />1. A cavity in the concrete shall be formed around the sleeve coupling. <br /> <br />3.19 REDUCING BRANCH CONNECTIONS <br /> <br />A. Reducing branch connections shall be made up with tee fittings, saddles, <br />branch outlets, or special tapped tee fittings provided with a boss. <br /> <br />1.
