<br />A. See plans for Brand, Model, and location of Controller. The General Contractor at <br />designated location shall supply power feed. <br /> <br />2.12 THRUST BLOCKS: <br /> <br />A. Concrete thrust Blocks shall be poured in place between all tees or angled fittings or <br />connections to the irrigation main and the wall of the trench, to resist movement and to <br />protect the pipe from damage. See plans for details. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 PREPARATION: <br /> <br />A. Layout of Main and Laterals: The sprinkler main lines and shall be laid out by the <br />Contractor and approved by the Design Consultant prior to excavation. The sprinkler lines <br />as shown on the Plans are drawn for clarity and are schematic in nature. No sprinkler lines <br />shall be under paved areas unless in sleeves or specifically noted on the Plans. <br />Specifications include notes pertaining to safe irrigation installation near trees. Any <br />adjustment or site modification shall be done prior to the excavation operation. Coverage <br />shall be designed for a minimum of 100% coverage at 50% overlap, to meet the <br />manufacturer's design standards for on center spacing. <br /> <br />B. Layout of Sprinkler Heads: All sprinkler head locations shall be staked by the sub-contractor <br />and approved by the Design Consultant prior to installation to insure uniformity and <br />correctness to both pattern and coverage. <br /> <br />C. Valve Location: The location of all valves shall be in landscape spaces. The location of all <br />valves shall be staked by the sub-contractor and approved by the Design Consultant prior to <br />installation to insure ease of access for maintenance and to insure that they do not conflict <br />with other elements on the project. <br /> <br />D. Sleeves and Road Crossings shall be supplied and installed as part of the sprinkler contract. <br />Each end of each sleeve shall be taped shut and marked for ease of location in the system <br />installation phase. <br /> <br />E. Irrigation Plans: The irrigation system indicated on the drawings is drawn for clarity and is <br />essentially diagrammatic. Spacing of the heads shown on the Plans shall not be modified <br />unless approved in writing by the Design Consultant. <br /> <br />F. Thrust Blocks: All thrust blocks shall be installed in the field according to the supplied <br />details and adjusted at the discretion of the installer to provide for the maximum protection <br />of the main. <br /> <br />3.02 INSTALLATION: <br /> <br />A. Ground Level Areas: The sub-contractor shall do all necessary excavating and backfilling <br />required for the proper installation of the work. Minimum depth of cover over piping shall <br />be 12 inches. Backfill material shall be clean fill. If existing material has an excess of rock, <br />then clean sand must be used. In rocky areas, use Sch. 40 PVC, or the trenching depth shall <br />be two inches below normal trench depth to allow for a 2-inch bed of sand below the pipe. <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />NE 174th Street Roadway Improvements <br />328400 - 5 Irrigation <br />
