<br />in every way possible, so that the construction can be completed in the <br />least possible time. <br /> <br /> 6.38.2 The CONTRACTOR shall have made himself familiar with all codes, <br />laws, ordinances, and regulations which in any manner affect those <br />engaged or employed in the Work, or materials and equipment used in or <br />upon the Work, or in any way affect the conduct of the Work, and no plea of <br />misunderstanding will be considered on account of his ignorance thereof. <br /> <br />Use of Premises: <br /> <br /> 6.39 CONTRACTOR shall confine his apparatus, storage of materials, and <br />operations of his workmen to the limits indicated by law, ordinances, permits and <br />directions of ENGINEER and OWNER, and shall not unnecessarily encumber any <br />part of the site. <br /> <br /> 6.39.1 CONTRACTOR shall not overload or permit any part of any <br />structure to be loaded with such weight as will endanger its safety, nor shall <br />he subject any part of the work to stresses or pressures that will endanger <br />it. <br /> <br /> 6.39.2 CONTRACTOR shall enforce ENGINEER'S and OWNER'S <br />instructions in connection with signs, advertisements, fires and smoking. <br /> <br /> 6.39.3 CONTRACTOR shall arrange and cooperate with OWNER in <br />routing and parking of automobiles of his employees, subcontractors and <br />other personnel, and in routine material delivery trucks and other vehicles to <br />the Project site. <br /> <br /> 6.39.4 The CONTRACTOR shall furnish, install and maintain adequate <br />construction office facilities for all workmen employed by him or by his <br />Subcontractors. Temporary offices shall be provided and located where <br /> directed and approved by the ENGINEER. All such facilities shall be <br />furnished in strict accordance with existing governing regulations. Field <br />offices shall include telephone facilities. <br /> <br />Protection of Existing Property Improvements: <br /> <br /> 6.40 The locations of existing utilities within the work areas shown on the plan are <br />approximate and are not guaranteed to be complete. Any existing surface or <br />subsurface improvements, such as pavements, curbs, sidewalks, pipes or utilities, <br />footings, or structures (including portions thereof), trees and shrubbery, not <br />indicated on the Drawings or noted in the Specifications as being removed or <br />altered shall be protected from damage during construction of the Project.
