DEWATERING OPERATIONS <br /> <br />The noise level during dewatering operations is to be kept to a minimum. The <br />CONTRACTOR shall be required to use electrically operated dewatering pumps or <br />engine-driven dewatering pumps equipped with “hospital mufflers”. At no such time <br />shall the noise levels associated with the dewatering operations be allowed to rise to <br />excessive noise levels. <br /> <br />At any time that there are noise complaints made by the area residents, the <br />dewatering operations shall be halted and the CONTRACTOR shall make all <br />provisions to effectively diminish the excessive noise to acceptable levels. All of this <br />shall be done at the CONTRACTOR’s expense and at no additional costs to the <br />CITY. <br /> <br />5. PERMITS AND LICENSES <br /> <br /> All permits, licenses and fees including but not limited to all licenses, <br />occupational license, certificate of occupancy, impact fees or inspection fees <br />necessary for the prosecution of the work undertaken by the CONTRACTOR <br />pursuant to this CONTRACT shall be secured and paid for by the <br />CONTRACTOR. The Permits indicated in SECTION 00890 have been obtained <br />for the project. The CITY/ENGINEER shall secure all permit extensions as <br />required for the project for the permits the CITY has already obtained. The <br />CONTRACTOR shall pay all costs of permit extensions resulting from the <br />CONTRACTOR’s failure to complete the work within the proposed CONTRACT <br />time. It is the CONTRACTOR’s responsibility to have and maintain appropriate <br />certificate(s) of competency, valid for the work to be performed and valid for the <br />jurisdiction in which the work is to be performed. <br /> <br />6. STORAGE SITES <br /> <br />The CONTRACTOR shall furnish, at his expense, properly zoned areas suitable <br />for field offices, material storage and equipment service and storage. <br /> <br />a. The CONTRACTOR shall maintain these areas in a clean, orderly <br />condition so as not to cause a nuisance in the area. <br />
