PRE-CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE <br /> <br /> After the award of CONTRACT and prior to the start of construction, a pre- <br />construction conference will be held between the CITY, the CONTRACTOR, the <br />ENGINEER, other interested agencies, representatives of utility companies, and <br />others affected by the work. The time and place of this conference will be set by the <br /> ENGINEER The CONTRACTOR shall bring with him to the conference, a copy of <br />his proposed work schedule for the concurrence by the OWNER and ENGINEER. <br />If this is found satisfactory, the OWNER will approve the work schedule and the <br />work shall be performed in accordance with such schedule, or approved <br />amendments thereto. <br /> <br />8. STORMWATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PLAN <br /> <br />The CONTRACTOR, within thirty (30) days of Award, shall prepare and submit to <br />the OWNER and ENGINEER for review and approval, a Stormwater Pollution <br />Prevention Plan (SWPP). <br /> <br />The SWPP shall define all measures to be taken by the CONTRACTOR to <br />ensure compliance with the Nation Pollution Discharge Elimination System <br />(NPDES) regulations. The required measures include, but are not limited to, <br />placement of bailed hay or straw around all existing drainage structures, <br />placement of filter fabric under catch basin grates, placement of silt fences, <br />barriers and turbidity screens/barriers. <br /> <br />The SWPP shall be prepared by an Engineer, Registered in the State of Florida <br />and familiar with the NPDES regulations. The SWPP shall be signed and sealed <br />by the Engineer retained by the CONTRACTOR and shall be responsible to <br />ensure the proper performance and compliance with the Plan and applicable <br />codes. <br /> <br />9. WATER QUALITY <br /> <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall take all steps necessary to protect water quality in the <br />connected waters around the project and shall utilize such additional measures as <br />directed by the ENGINEER. Silt screens adjacent to the connected waters or outfall <br />construction shall not be removed until the turbidity of the affected waters is equal to <br />or lower than the ambient turbidity of undisturbed waters. The CONTRACTOR shall <br />ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations regarding <br />construction activities within the connected waters and shall take any and all <br />necessary steps to ensure minimum water quality standards. These steps shall <br />include but not be limited to the placement of floating turbidity barriers, silt fencing, <br />cofferdams or other approved methods of protecting water quality. The cost of these <br />measures is understood to be included in the bid price for items to which they would <br />most logically be associated. <br />
