<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />NE 174th Street Roadway Improvements <br />00800-9 Special Conditions and <br />Supplementary Conditions <br />14-1758 / 09-19-2014 <br /> <br />15. FIELD TESTING <br /> <br />The OWNER and/or ENGINEER shall be present during all necessary testing. The <br />CONTRACTOR to notify the OWNER and ENGINEER at least fourty-eight (48) <br />hours in advance of any field testing. The CONTRACTOR shall pay for the cost of <br />any required test. <br /> <br /> <br />16. NO ADJUSTED PAYMENT FOR OVER-THICKNESS OF MATERIALS <br /> <br />No adjustment will be made to adjust quantities based on actual thickness versus <br />nominal thickness. All materials in this CONTRACT will be paid for as though <br />they are installed at the nominal thickness required on the Plans. All materials <br />will be installed to the tolerances required in the Florida Department of <br />Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, dated <br />2013 Materials, which exceed the tolerances required, will not be paid for by the <br />CITY. Materials, which fail to meet tolerances, will be replaced or corrected by <br />the CONTRACTOR, as directed by the ENGINEER, at no cost to the CITY. <br /> <br /> <br />17. PLUG AND ABANDON EXISTING PIPE: <br /> <br />The work specified in this section shall consist of filling and plugging existing storm <br />water pipes at the locations and in accordance with the details shown in the plans. <br />Filling shall be done with grout and plugging shall be in accordance with FDOT <br />Standard Index No. 280. <br /> <br />a. Grout used in filling the pipes shall be composed of one part Portland <br />cement and twelve parts of clean sharp sand. <br /> <br />b. The quantity to be paid for under this section shall be in cubic yards <br />completed and accepted. <br />c. The quantity of Filling and Plugging Pipe, determined as provided above, <br />shall be paid for as a part of Clearing & Grubbing. Such price and <br />payment shall be full compensation for all work and materials required to <br />complete the work. <br /> <br /> <br />18. EXISTING SPRINKLER SYSTEMS: <br /> <br />The CONTRACTOR shall use caution to avoid sprinkler systems. The <br />CONTRACTOR at no additional cost to the CITY shall replace sprinklers, <br />damaged by the CONTRACTOR. Private sprinkler systems, which exist within <br />the construction limits and can be utilized for irrigation after construction, (i.e. <br />swales) shall be protected by the CONTRACTOR. Private sprinkler systems, <br />which exist within the construction limits and cannot be utilized for irrigation after <br />construction shall be disconnected at right-of-way and a new piping system shall
