Ask Release <br /> Alpine Towing will notify the Police Department prior to any procedure to junk or otherwise dispose of the <br /> vehicle. Alpine Towing will follow all procedures set forth by the Police Department regarding confiscated <br /> vehicle(s) for which they are undergoing legal proceedings for transfer of title, or being held as part of a criminal <br /> investigation. The vehicle owner shall be furnished with an itemized statement of all charges due for the <br /> impounded vehicle when the owner claims the vehicle. Alpine Towing will receive a receipt and release of all <br /> personal property therein from the vehicle owner and it shall be retained said receipts for one year. <br /> Alpine Towing understands that the City of Sunny Isles Beach will not be held responsible or liable for <br /> nonpayment of any towing and storage fees due from the vehicle owner. Personal property in the vehicle <br /> stored will shall not be disposed of to defray any charges for towing and storage without a court order. <br /> Viewing of Impounded Vehicle/Removal of Personal Property <br /> Alpine Towing will allow the registered owner or owner's agent or insurance representative (upon presentation <br /> of proper identification) to view and photograph said vehicle during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., 7 days <br /> a week without restrictions or requirements, other than proof of ownership or agency. If proof of ownership is <br /> claimed to be in the vehicle, then Alpine will allow retrieval of those documents. <br /> Alpine Towing will allow the vehicle owner or authorized agent to inspect the vehicle prior to payment of <br /> charges. Alpine Towing will allow the vehicle owner or authorized agent to remove all personal possessions, not <br /> affixed to stored vehicle, including but not limited to radios and telephones, and will assist either in doing so. <br /> doNo release or waiver regarding payment of towing and storage charges shall be required as a condition of <br /> release of personal property. The above provisions do not apply to vehicle marked "HOLD" by the Police <br /> Department. <br /> Reports <br /> In addition to the Vehicle Storage Receipt written by the City's Police Officer or Aide, or City Inspector at the <br /> scene, the following digital typed reports will be prepared and maintained by Alpine Towing at their place of <br /> business: <br /> 1. A log of calls for service requested by the City's Police Department will be kept, with a column to label <br /> by accidents, owner request, arrest, stolen, unknown, City Vehicle, etc. with a copy submitted to the <br /> City's Police Department,Administrative Division monthly. <br /> 2. A log of all unclaimed vehicles will be submitted monthly to the Police Department's Administrative <br /> Division. <br /> 3. A notification log indicating date, time and method of notification to the registered owner of an <br /> impounded vehicle, in accordance with the State of Florida Statutes, EXCEPT THAT NOTIFICATION MUST <br /> BE MAILED TO REGISTERED OWNER WITHIN 48 HOURS OF IMPOUNDMENT. The vehicle owner shall not <br /> be charged for daily storage between the 48 hours and the actual time of mailing notification. <br /> 4.
