A <br /> design contract with LIVS Associates was approved by City Commission September <br /> 2010. Also in 2010, the City acquired an easement for the purposes of constructing and <br /> installing landscape and hardscape enhancements abutting Collins Avenue that are within <br /> the easement. There are three issues that are being addressed in this contract amendment, <br /> and specifically include: <br /> 1)The original design was prepared in advance of the City's acquisition of the Intracoastal <br /> Park properties and as such did not include the same landscape and hardscape aesthetic <br /> elements (i.e. wave pattern pavers, Medjool date palms/green island ficus and <br /> uplighting). The redesign will create aesthetic continuity between this project and the <br /> Intracoastal Parks. <br /> 2)The original design was based upon an easement width on the Arlen House property of <br /> 30 feet, however, the actual easement is only approximately 22 feet in width.
