<br />and sediment dredging analysis; FEMA coastal floodplain mapping; wave statistical analysis, wave propagation, storm surge analysis
<br />and sediment transport analysis; structural design projects involving riprap shore protection, breakwaters, jetties, single point mooring
<br />systems, marina basins, dredging, and beach nourishment and management.
<br />Dr. Chen has extensive experience in developing and utilizing software packages for numerical model simulations of coastal processes.
<br />He has applied the DHI MIKE21 modules for wave propagation and transformation, hydrodynamics, as well as the sediment transport
<br />packages. He has applied numerical modeling to optimize the planning and design of shore protection projects worldwide.
