1 <br /> SECTION 01030 <br /> SPECIAL PROJECT PROCEDURES <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 1.01 OBSTRUCTIONS <br /> A. The attention of the Contractor is drawn to the fact that during construction at the <br /> Project site, the possibility exists of the Contractor encountering various water, <br /> 1 sewer, petroleum, gas, telephone, electrical, or other lines not shown on the <br /> Drawings. The Contractor shall exercise extreme care before and during <br /> construction to locate and flag these lines so as to avoid damage to the existing <br /> 1 lines. Should damage occur to an existing line, the Contractor shall repair the line <br /> at no cost to the Owner. <br /> 1.02 PROVISIONS FOR THE CONTROL OF DUST <br /> A. Sufficient precautions shall be taken during construction to minimize the amount of <br /> dust created. Wetting down the site may be required or as directed by the <br /> Engineer to prevent dust as a result of vehicular traffic. <br /> 1.03 . RELOCATIONS <br /> 1 A. The Contractor shall be responsible for the relocation of structures, including but <br /> not limited to light poles, signs, sign poles, fences, piping, conduits and drains that <br /> interfere with the positioning of the work as set out on the Drawings. The cost of <br /> all such relocations shall be included in the bid for the project and shall not result in <br /> any additional cost to the Owner. <br /> 1.04 WARRANTIES <br /> A. All equipment supplied under these Specifications shall be warranted by the <br /> Contractor and the equipment manufacturers for a period of one (1) year. <br /> Warranty period shall commence on the date of Owner acceptance. <br /> B. The equipment shall be warranted to be free from defects in workmanship, design <br /> and materials. If any part of the equipment should fail during the warranty period, it <br /> t shall be replaced in the machine(s) and the unit(s) restored to service at no <br /> expense to the Owner. <br /> C. The manufacturer's warranty period shall run concurrently with the Contractor's <br /> warranty or guarantee period. No exception to this provision shall be allowed. <br /> D. In the event that the manufacturer is unwilling to provide a one year warranty <br /> commencing at the time of Owner acceptance, the Contractor shall obtain from the <br /> manufacturer a two (2) year warranty starting at the time of Owner acceptance of <br /> the equipment. <br /> 05/08 01030-1 05-4893 <br />
