<br />Dr. Khan was the Transportation Engineer for this resurfacing project which consisted of a 1.2 mil section of SR
<br />806/Atlantic Avenue. In addition, this project included median modifications and pedestrian upgrades. The upgrades
<br />included construction of new curb ramps and the installation of truncated domes. Coordination with the City, community
<br />civic, and property owners associations was a key element of the project.

<br />drainage report, and community awareness plan (CAP).

<br />resurfacing, sidewalk/ADA construction, signing and pavement marking, and signalization. Key features included the

<br />plan (CAP). He also prepared signalization plans to upgrade the existing span wire.

<br />As the Senior Project Engineer, Dr. Khan led the project team for lighting, signalization, signing, and pavement marking
<br />design. He developed an experimental turtle lighting project for this section of SR A1A, which is located adjacent to a sea
<br />turtle nesting beach. Designed an improved sea turtle friendly lighting system using internally illuminated LED pavement
<br />markers when pole mounted lights are turned off. The project received a “Grand Award” in the FICE 2009 Excellence in
<br />Engineering Awards program.

<br />Dr. Khan held the position of Project Manager for this countywide intersection improvement project. Individual
<br />intersections for improvement are assigned on a Task Work Order basis. Dr. Khan led the team on Congress Avenue/Park
<br />Avenue intersection that included sub-consultants for survey and drainage design services while preparing roadway,
<br />signalization, and signing & pavement marking plans in house. This project also involved permitting work with South
<br />Florida Water Management District and other local agencies.
