BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size and cost) <br /> <br /> The City of West Palm Beach desires to replace the 8” watermain <br />along Island Drive from the south end of the roadway (at the dead <br />end) to Island Road a distance of approximately one half mile. The <br />water main needs to be installed quickly so that it is in place prior <br />to the Town of Palm Beach’s scheduled resurfacing of the roadway <br />and within the time frames established by the Town for months <br />during which construction is allowed. The tight right of way width, <br />many conflicts within the congested right of way, politically <br />sensitive nature of work in this area, coordination with the other <br />improvement projects (FPL installing underground facilities and <br />the Town repaving the roadway surface), and fast schedule make <br />this a unique and challenging project. <br /> <br />The services include the following: <br /> <br />Survey: Obtain topographic survey information needed for design and plans preparation and establish the <br />right of way lines needed for construction using an <br />assumed datum. <br /> <br />Design: Design the proposed improvements based on <br />the direction from the City. <br /> <br />Permitting: Obtain a permit for construction from the <br />Palm Beach County Health Department and <br />coordinate with the Town of Palm Beach. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />25.
