O
Craig A. Smith & Associates, Inc.
Engineers • Surveyors • Subsurface Utility Engineering
3D Subsurface Imaging • Utility Coordination
evidenced by commitment to utility/water, sewer and drainage engineering using our
exclusive Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) capabilities - utility locating, mapping and
surveying - the three disciplines required for pipeline design and construction. CAS provides
all of these services in-house from our office in nearby Boca Raton.
CAS offers 3D Radar Tomography (RT) scanning, a technology that saves time and money
as well as serves to prevent liabilities for our clients. More importantly, 3D RT protects the
citizens, visitors and businesses of our clients by preventing disruptions of the city's and
private utility services.
Because of our commitment to SUE, CAS acquired MPS3D, our now wholly owned affiliate,
with its exclusive 3D RT licenses and patented underground mapping equipment. CAS
provides CADD deliverables to our clients in three dimensions. This will allow the city's
construction contractors to avoid problems when they dig. Our firm is capable of preparing
base maps for design through the use of above ground surveying and underground surveying.
These are delivered to our clients signed and sealed with guaranteed accuracy. In addition,
CAS only uses in-house, qualified professionals operating on a daily basis out of our Boca
Raton office. All work is under our direct supervision and control.
Our 3D RT scanning is non -intrusive and maps all underground utilities, facilities and
anomalies with 100% coverage of the rights-of-way to be used for construction. The
scanning is ground truthed with other conventional tools and equipment providing CAS and
the city with the most accurate data possible to prepare designs and begin construction
plans. This technology speeds up design time, reduces costs, provides locations of all known
and unknown underground facilities, reduces liabilities during construction, and can serve to
virtually eliminate contractor claims.
Quality Control
Quality control throughout the project's duration is handled by means of a check and balance
system and through the client relationships we forge during the project. This provides for open
and honest lines of communication. Members of the project team will meet regularly to
establish consistent quality review framework.
• Quality standards are fundamental to the success of the project. CAS prides itself on
the consistent high quality of our output, whether it is project plans, specifications,
design elements, comprehensive studies, survey, utility locates, or grant writing.
• At CAS, we are committed to achieving and maintaining the highest quality standards
possible and ensuring the client's satisfaction.
7777 Glades Road, Suite 410, Boca Raton, FL 33434 • Ph: 561-314-4445 • www.craigasmith.com • LB3110 13
