City of Sunny Isles Beach RFQ No. 18-08-01 | Consulting Engineering Services for Golden Shores Utility Undergrounding and Roadway Improvements (CCNA) <br />construction administration for the neighborhood enhancements portion of this project. <br />Most recently, Mr. Conner has worked on numerous roadway projects, which have included complete streets and roadway enhancements. In addition, he has assisted several municipalities with the completion of five Florida Highway Beautification Council grant projects over the last five years and is currently assisting the City of Tamarac with a FDOT grant project on Commercial Boulevard, which is scheduled to begin construction in this year. <br />Marcos MendozaMr. Mendoza has over 24 years of experience. He directs the landscape architectural staff in all code compliance and site design issues, ensuring that Quality Control and construction documents are consistent and thorough, while meeting location-specific permit criteria. Mr. Mendoza is the lead designer for all CGA’s irrigation system plans while contributing his expertise in directing the production and development of construction plans. Mr. Mendoza's experience includes Mills Pond Park, Soccier Field Conversion at Weston Regional Park, Football Field Conversion at Cypress Bay High School, Vista Park, and Middle Beach Recreational Corridor. <br />WATER/SEWER <br />Nicholas Kanelidis, PEMr. Kanelidis has seven (7) years of experience that encompasses design of water, wastewater services, site design, civil, geotechnical, and surface water management to both the private and public sector clients. As a Project Manager at CGA, his responsibilities include preparing proposals with labor breakdowns, developing and managing project schedules, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, developing quantity take-offs and cost estimates, preparing various engineering plans and technical specifications, permitting, bidding assistance, addressing Contractor RFI’s, reviewing shop drawings, negotiating and reviewing change orders, as-built reviews, final project certifications, and overall project management. He is also certified as a FDEP Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector. As an engineer with previous design and field experience, he is versatile in his ability to perform the tasks at each individual project stage. <br />Specific past project experience includes the City of Oakland Park’s LERIX water and stormwater improvements. This residential project provided new water main and a new stormwater conveyance <br />system to improve flooding issues within the residential neighborhood. The project also included a new stormwater pump station and floodgates for major storm events. The project funding was driven by a FEMA grant, and permit coordination efforts were facilitated by CGA through the City, County, FDEP, SFWMD, and the FDOT. The project was completed by the FEMA funding deadline. Bid Pack 9 Infrastructure Improvements was another residential neighborhood project that included replacement of three municipal sewer pump stations, 20,000 linear feet of water main, 5,500 linear feet of sewer force main, and 15,000 linear feet of drainage pipe. This project also required permit coordination between the City, County, FDEP, SFWMD, and the FDOT <br />James Messick, PEMr. Messick has over 14 years of combined experience within both the private and public sector of civil engineering within the south Florida region. His responsibilities include design of septic/lift stations, large scale stormwater management systems, sewage collection and transmission systems, water distribution systems, roadway and associated drainage improvements, general site development for both public and private engineering projects, construction cost estimates, and feasibility studies, along with the permitting of stormwater management systems, utilities and local roadway improvements to Florida Department of Transportation, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and Florida Department of Health, along with applicable south Florida counties, municipalities and local agencies, and detailed experience with engineering services during construction. <br />Currently, Mr. Messick is the engineer of record and managing a large drainage improvements project in the City of Hallandale Beach, which includes relocation and/or replacement of existing water and sewer mains as part of the overall neighborhood improvements project. This project required extensive utility coordination in order to relocate FPL and Comcast to allow for the construction of a large stormwater pump station. Similarly, he has recently design a water distribution replacement system within an Oakland Park neighborhood, which included permitting to both Broward County Department of Health and Florida Department of Transportation. He recently was awarded a project for the City of Boca Raton, which includes two project areas of sanitary sewer manhole and associated main relocations due to existing unsuitable soils prevalent in the projects’ vicinity. <br />19
