52CES Consultants ● City of Sunny Isles Beach RFQ No. 18-11-01 <br />STANDARD FORM 330 (REV 8/2016)  PAGE F-1 <br />Project Overview <br />CES provided engineering analysis and storm water drainage design for a <br />closed storm water management system of approximately 0.75 mile <br />along SW 27th Avenue from US-1 to Bay Shore Drive. The purpose of the <br />project is to improve traffic via roadway widening, median installations, <br />redesigns of intersections, and improvements to drainage, parking, <br />lighting, signalization, and landscaping in the Coconut Grove <br />neighborhood of the City of Miami. Land use is a combination of <br />residential and commercial. Since the roadway is part of an older, well <br />established neighborhood, many different utilities are installed within the <br />Right-of-Way. The project corridor includes a 30-inch water main and <br />smaller water main, as well as gas, multiple fiber-optic cable duct banks, <br />sanitary sewers, and force mains. Other complicating factors in the design <br />include low grade elevation and a high groundwater table at the southern <br />end of the project, which is adjacent to Biscayne Bay; higher elevations in <br />the mid-section; and ‘normal’ elevations around the northern end. <br />Scope of Work <br />The proposed drainage design has been developed in accordance with <br />guidelines set forth by the County and by the Florida Department of <br />Transportation. The design consists of approximately 70 structures, as <br />well as 3,000 LF of piping and 2,000 LF of French drains divided into <br />eight (8) independent, closed systems. By creating independent <br />systems, CES has been able to develop a design that satisfies the <br />requirements while also securing significant cost savings to the client <br />compared to the traditional approach used to create interdependent <br />systems. <br />Ser vi ces Provided : <br />Drainage Design <br />Hydraulic Analysis <br />Permitting <br />Interagency Coordination <br />F.
