The project included the design for the required duct banks to provide 750 <br />VDC connection between each traction power sub-stations and the contact rails for the positive feeders and running rails for the negative <br />feeders, design of the guideway grounding and lighting protection systems, which included three 13.2KV/750 VDC sub-stations with two <br />5MVA rectifier/transformer units feeding a 10 KADC switch gear. Our electrical department, as part of the design team, has been involved in <br />monthly coordination meetings with MDX Agency representatives, architects/engineers and system consultants. This required a new lighting system <br />for SR-826, from S.W. 4th Street to N.W. 22nd Street, and for SR-836, from N.W. 92nd Avenue to East of N.W. 72nd Avenue. Due to the <br />construction of new on and off ramps, additional lighting was installed on impacted side streets including, but not limited to, Flagler Street and <br />87th Avenue. The new lighting system consisted of approximately one thousand lighting poles along both highways and more than one <br />hundred under bridge deck luminaires, mounting heights between fifteen and forty-five feet. The entire lighting system required seven <br />service points with an average of 200 amps each, and it was designed to comply with FDOT and MDX criteria. This project includes detailed electrical <br />design services to assist the Department with Consent Order compliance for a new 285 mgd HLD facility. APCT is responsible for the following <br />upgrades: Onsite Sodium Hypochlorite Generation Facility (OSHG), new filter system and transfer pump station. APCT also provided technical <br />information for the permitting process relevant to the electrical discipline of the OSHG Facility and new filter system and transfer pump <br />station.
